Montessori bed: your questions
What is a floor bed?
A floor bed — or Montessori bed — is a low bed without rails, placed level with the floor: the child lies down and gets up alone, with no fall from height. Rooted in the Montessori approach, it builds autonomy and respects the child’s natural sleep rhythm.
From what age a Montessori bed?
From the move to a "big bed", often between 18 months and 3 years. The floor bed lets your child lie down and get up on their own, safely.
Can a baby sleep in a floor bed?
Yes: some families use a floor bed from birth, in a fully secured room (firm mattress, covered outlets, anchored furniture). Our 60 × 120 bed supports this transition from age 1; before that, a dedicated baby sleeper remains recommended.
Which sizes do you offer?
The 60 × 120 cm to start, the 90 × 200 cm (or 90 × 190 cm) for a bed that lasts for years. The house bed also comes in an evolving version.
Is a floor bed without bars safe?
Yes: right at floor level, no drop. Wood without nails or screws, softened edges and a water-based varnish that meets the strictest standards.
