Play & manipulation tree for a nursery

The need

Dress up a structural pillar in the middle of the living space and turn it into a point of play and discovery for the little ones.

The constraints

Integrate an existing load-bearing element, provide manipulation activities at child height, and ensure sturdiness and safety in a very busy space.

Our solution

A wooden tree wrapping around the pillar: a trunk, leafy platforms, a little bird perched up high, and at the base manipulation modules (gears, tracks, buttons) for curious hands. The idea was first sketched on site, then drawn, then made.

From the on-site sketch to the workshop build (Andenne): a fully bespoke project.

Delivery & installation

Installation around the existing pillar, with secured fixings.

The result

A constraining pillar transformed into the centrepiece of the room, where children play and manipulate safely.
